Harlingen Water Works Systems – MFR Water Plant Filter Control Sys. Rehab.

WWatertech, Inc. (WWTI) has just completed this project in the Rio Grande Valley which consists of supplying and installing a new filter control system manufactured by Filter Magic, along with all new butterfly valves with K-TORK pneumatic actuators. The plant was constructed in 1971 and consists of a total of six gravity filters each with their own pneumatic control console. The new Filter Magic consoles are provided as dual filter control consoles utilizing one touch-screen Operator Interface Terminal (OIT) to monitor and control two filters. Filter Magic utilizes one AS-Interface (AS-I) bus network loop to communicate to all field devices associated with a pair of filters including valve actuators, flow/level/loss of head transmitters & turbidity meters. This simple to use, maintain and troubleshoot technology saves substantial time and money during installation and throughout the years. (WWTI) overcame several logistical obstacles and completed all construction in less than 6 months!
